COVID-19 Update January 27

Alberta Health has not made any changes to the current COVID-19 restrictions put in place through January 21, and in lieu of announcing another date, they have stated that all current restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

Confirming a swimming re-start date will depend on:

1) Alberta Health changing COVID-19 restrictions;

2) Swim Alberta approving any new Alberta Health COVID-19 restrictions and giving teams permission to re-start with any potential additional conditions/procedures;

3) MacEwan approving any new Alberta Health COVID-19 restrictions, and their ability to get the pool ready (might need at least 1 week); and

4) Penguin Swimming’s through evaluation and acceptance of any new COVID-19 restrictions, conditions, and procedures as it pertains to the safety of swimmers, coaches, facility staff, and the general public.

The team will continue to evaluate the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Penguin Swimming will inform swimmers/families of any new restriction developments.
